As part of the support measures that the government is working on and will be announced next week, the government spokesman, Pavlos Marinakis, announced a new heating allowance that will cover the majority of households that are heated with electricity.

In particular, during the briefing of the political editors, Mr. Marinakis stated that “as already announced a few days ago, in the context of planning to support citizens for the coming months in the energy sector, the government is working out in detail support measures that will be announced next week by the Minister Mr. Skylakakis and the Deputy Minister of Environment & Energy Ms. Sdoukou.

“This plan includes, among other things, a new heating allowance that will cover the majority of households that are heated with electricity. More details will be given by the political leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, added the government representative.

Mr. Marinakis, referring to the possibility that the prices of energy products will escape from the new year, said that then a new targeted subsidy scheme for consumers will be immediately reviewed.

“The Government’s support to citizens continues, with special care especially for our most vulnerable fellow citizens, with respect for public finances and the money of Greek taxpayers”, emphasized Pavlos Marinakis.
