The meeting of the Executive Office is in progress – A meeting was preceded by Kasselakis – Tsakalotou on the initiative of the latter
A short time ago, SYRIZA president Stefanos Kasselakis and Euclid Tsakalotos had a brief meeting in Koumoundourou. Mr. Tsakalotos asked Mr. Kasselakis to take back the deletionswhile in his statement after the meeting, he said that the president of the party replied that “he will see to it, he will look seriously into the matter.”
In particular, Mr. Tsakalotos after the meeting, which took place on his own initiative as he went to the party president’s office, shortly before the meeting of the Executive Office, said: We had a meeting in a good atmosphere. But I explained to him that for the future of SYRIZA, for the plans he has, for the plans I have, they cannot be done in a good atmosphere as long as there are threats of deletions. To solve this. He listened to me, I think in a positive way we will see what he will do and if he solves this we will be in a better position to discuss the future of SYRIZA, how likely or not the unity is. To the question whether the withdrawal of the deletions is a condition for him to remain in SYRIZA, Mr. Tsakalotos replied that he did not raise such an issue.
The meeting of the Executive Office of SYRIZA convened by the party’s president Stefanos Kasselakis is now underway in Koumoundourou.
The party’s secretary Rania Svigou and deputy Giorgos Vasiliadis, president of the party’s Parliamentary Group, Sokratis Famellos, secretary Theodora Tzakri, as well as three members of the Political Secretariat, Efi Ahtsioglou, Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou and Rena Dourou, are participating in the meeting.
The meeting takes place in the wake of the president’s decision to refer Nikos Fili, Panos Skourletis, Dimitris Vitsa and Stefanos Tzoumakas to the Ethics Committee. It is noted that the meeting of the Central Committee of the party is pending, while two days ago Mrs. Ahtsioglou in a joint statement with Alexis Haritsi and Nasos Iliopoulos requested the convening of the Political Secretariat of the party and the speeding up of the Congress scheduled for February 23-25 .
