Incidents took place yesterday in different parts of Athens, on the sidelines of the gatherings organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the murder of two Golden Dawn executives in the area of ​​Neos Heraklion.

“We are investigating yesterday’s incident in Victoria Square with the unacceptable behavior of the police,” Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Kostas Katsafados, told SKAI.

The deputy minister also stated that the investigation shows that no police officer was involved in the injury of the 17-year-old girl in Neo Heraklion

As he said, it is estimated that the girl was hit by a stone and then fell, causing her to hit even more seriously. According to Mr. Katsafados, the police officers who rushed to help her were attacked by anti-authoritarians.

Responding to the criticism of the incidents, Mr. Katsafados noted that despite the tension, the police managed to decompress the situation, arrests were made at the airport, while there were no extensive incidents and the police intervention was immediate.

Referring to the cameras that have been announced to be placed on police uniforms, patrol cars and on the roads, he said the aim is to have the cameras initially on the streets out to tender by the end of the year.
