The confrontation between the government and KINAL in the Parliament was fierce on the occasion of the accuracy with the two sides using “poisonous” attacks, reminiscent of the old ND-PASOK conflicts.
Initially, the head of the KINAL Central Committee, Michalis Katrinis, harshly criticized the government, accusing it of not taking the necessary measures against the wave of accuracy. “The government is pretending nothing is happening. It tries to convince us that beyond what we experience there is another image. “If you continue like this, chief ministers, in a short time you will not be able to visit a supermarket or a gas station for communication reasons either.”
Responding, the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras, criticized KINAL for populism and risk-taking. “These are the characteristics of your party. Dangerology, because you said the same thing in the pandemic and you were denied. You will be refuted again. “Populism, because you started distributing billions again without costing anything,” he said. He added that “There are no money trees! The country had one of the biggest deficits in the EU, we have a high debt – we know when it was created, it is not of the present – which is sustainable! “The country is under enhanced surveillance, it has no investment grade, monetary policy is starting to become more restrictive and we are trying to make moves with insight.”
However, the spirits began to sharpen when the Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis, spoke, who appeared annoyed by the arguments of the KINAL MPs. “Do you want to become SYRIZA?” What I heard is populism of the manipulative kind. This is injustice and I do not want injustice! God does not want it either and for that he will punish you! Do you know the e-katanalotis platform? “Aren’t you showing it through a cell phone to Androulakis and he gets distracted?”, He said, provoking the angry reaction of the secretary of the KINAL Central Committee, Evangelia Liakoulis.
“As far as I am concerned, because I have respect for the Divine and I am used to using it in very difficult times, sparing me! When I hear ministers refer in this way to the punishing God, not only do you impress me negatively but on a human level you make me deeply sad. “I can understand your great turmoil and concern and your storm that is due to political reasons”, he pointed out.
However, Mr. Georgiadis raised the issue of the attitude of Nikos Androulakis and the policy of equal distances, citing the beautiful Eleni as an example.
“I give a piece of advice to Mr. Androulakis: to govern in secret is a good recipe but for a while. I call it “the recipe of the Beautiful Helen”. Homer in the Iliad does not have any kind of description of the Beautiful Helen. Whether she is blonde or brunette, short or tall. Every Greek dreams of the Beautiful Helen as he wishes. It is good for poetry. It also helps in politics for a while. You do not say anything about Novartis, you say something slanderous about Portugal, but with the first article we got into a fight. “Why do you like Portugal of 1.3, but not Greece of 1.2 (s.s. inflation)”, said Mr. Georgiadis characteristically, provoking reactions from the KINAL deputies.
Mr. Georgiadis’s judicial comment could not be left unanswered by KINAL with Ms. Liakouli taking the floor and answering that “she is not the beautiful Eleni, the statesman Nikolas is! Digest it! This is our president! I understand what you are saying, but they show your storm “.
