“After PASOK and SYRIZA, they refuse to investigate the causes and the corresponding political and criminal responsibilities, which led to the crime in Tempi. Obviously for these parties the policy of liberating and privatizing the railways, which they served together with the ND and which was condemned in the great mobilizations of the people and the youth, is unrelated to this specific crime!” reports the KKE in its comment “on SYRIZA’s intention to submit a request for the establishment of a preliminary investigation committee for the crime in Tempi”.

“We repeat that the commission of inquiry, which can be set up by the opposition, even if the ND did not agree to this choice, making the need an honor, examines all the political and criminal responsibilities. While a possible rejection of the request for a pre-investigation committee, the importance of which the KKE does not underestimate, may lead to the closure of the road to the attribution of criminal responsibilities, based on the Rules of the Parliament which stipulate that no new proposal for prosecution based on in the same facts” points out the KKE and concludes its comment:

“It is clear that ND, SYRIZA and PASOK are seeking, with shared roles, to cancel in advance the role of the commission of inquiry and to bury the essential investigation into the crime in Tempi, in order to finally get themselves out of the frame of responsibility for politics which they applied. But things are too serious and the stakes of the investigation too critical to depend on the micro-political expediencies of these parties and their rivalries. That is why the KKE, being fully aware of the limits of the parliamentary committees, will do everything in its power, at all levels, to investigate the crime of Tempe, so that the people will know the whole truth and punish all the guilty”.
