Many fronts were opened by the interview of the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis.

Referring to Kasselakis statement that Nikos Fili urged him not to say the term patriotic left, the former minister wrote on Facebook:

“Yesterday I heard Mr. Kasselakis in his walking interview, among other things claiming (referring to the meeting we had earlier in his office in the Parliament), that “Filis told me not to say patriotic Left”.

What is the truth: in our meeting, I had pointed out to him that “the modern Left has many characteristics. It is democratic, it is ecological, it is feminist, it is anti-capitalist, it is socialist, it is anti-nationalist, it is against gender and other discriminations, and of course it is patriotic. Why do you choose only the word patriotic out of all these? This is like giving an exam to the Right, which questions the patriotism of the Left.”

Mr. Kasselakis’ response to this was literally “perhaps you are right”.

It is clear that in his interview yesterday, he completely paraphrased and distorted our discussion in order to create impressions. With a method that causes an impression, as it reveals some aspects of his personality. In addition to the already established fact, to change his narrative daily on all political issues”.
