If contract 717, which Hellenic Train was aware of, had been implemented, the accident would not have happened, stressed the president of PASOK
Nikos Androulakis made it clear, from the floor of the Parliament, that the PASOK-Movement for Change will not become a participant in the cover-up of criminal responsibilities for the tragedy in Tempi by voting for the KKE’s proposal to establish a Commission of Inquiry on the matter.
“We do not participate in the diffusion of blame and cover-up”, said the president of PASOK-KINAL and added that there is a mature criminal case file against European Prosecutor for Mr. Spirtzi and Karamanli.
The president of PASOK-Movement of Change emphasized that the establishment of a Pre-Investigation Committee he is proposing is a clear position and does not give the ND a way out. Addressing the deputy prime minister, Makis Voridis, he said that the government is possessed by “extreme opportunism and not multi-level modernization, as it claims”.
He also accused the government of trying to cover up its responsibilities by voting for the KKE proposal former Minister of Infrastructure K.Ach. Karamanlis. “You are ready to work with anyone to cover up the case. Not to an Inquiry Committee that will end up in philological tea”, said the president of PASOK-KINAL.
At the same time, he criticized the KKE for being biased towards the EU as it facilitates the government with its request to assign responsibility and request an investigation since 1997. “It’s everyone’s fault” ends up in “we’re also to blame”, observed Nikos Androulakis.
He also aimed his arrows at SYRIZA-PS, saying that he is in “vertigo” as he criticized the ND for accepting the KKE proposal and is now voting for it.
He asked for an explanation why Mr. Karamanlis closed the document of the National Transparency Authority in the drawer in which his responsibilities were pointed out for the delay in the implementation of contract 717 as well as for having approved compensation to the contractor company. He also attributed important responsibilities to Christos Spirtzis, the responsible minister in the SYRIZA government who earlier had not implemented the remote control contract.
The president of PASOK-KINAL claimed that Hellenic Train was aware of the disputed contract 717 and that if the contract had been implemented the tragedy in Tempi would have been avoided.
