The countdown to the future of SYRIZA has begun. On Sunday afternoon, the executives who supported Efi Ahtsioglou in the internal party elections will hold their nationwide conference. They do not prejudge what they will do despite the fact that the disappointment and dissatisfaction they feel does not give them much scope. “Umbrella” left and if the “forties” decide the same, then they will leave SYRIZA “naked” with its future extremely uncertain.

It is no coincidence that compromise moves are made on two levels. First, at yesterday’s meeting of the Executive Office, Stefanos Kasselakis once again “extended a hand of friendship” by promoting unity. The two secretaries, Rania Svigou and Giorgos Vasiliadis have not left things to chance. On Tuesday morning they drank coffee in the center of Athens with Alexis Haritsis and Nasos Iliopoulos.

They have known each other for many years and the atmosphere was extremely friendly. It is alleged that they have started to make contacts with other MPs who are oriented to leave. Can something change at the last minute? Certainly, Stefanos Kasselakis’ criticism of the 37 billion euro cushion did not help the situation. Yesterday, Aristidis Baltas, who is a member of the Central Committee, and Nikos Toskas announced their departure from SYRIZA.

Prefectural offices are slowly becoming empty due to member resignations. 52 members from northern Athens announced: “For all the reasons that are detailed in the text of the withdrawal of the 46 members of the KE and also in the text of the 1,300 that we have co-signed, we resign from the body of the Prefectural Committee of North Athens, the Coordinating Committees of the OM of North Athens SYRIZA – PS but also from members of the party”. An open letter of resignation was signed by 12 members of the Prefectural Committee of SYRIZA Achaia and 12 members of the coordinating member organizations of the party.

It was preceded by the dinner of Alexis Tsipras with Gabriel Sakellaridis, for which no further details were given. In any case, the meeting of the two in an open space and not in the former prime minister’s new office cannot be accidental, sending a message about the party’s dissolute tendencies. Mobility and reflection also prevails in other internal party fields of Koumoundouros.

The developments are monitored by the Tebonera group, several from “Gefyra” with Nikos Bistis are moving together with “6+6”, while many former presidents express their skepticism either publicly or in private discussions.
