The letters of independence of the nine MPs who are leaving SYRIZA were delivered this morning to the president of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoula, by Alexis Haritsis and Nasos Iliopoulos, in a meeting they had this morning in the Parliament.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, the president of the Parliament, Mr Nasos Iliopoulos he said that “right now we are talking about 11 people who have left, so yes, we are 11. You understand that this is not an easy decision for us. It is the only decision with which we feel that we can support the political framework, with which we were elected and which we have been saying all these years. For us from now on it is the opposition to the government”.

He added that there will definitely be a parliamentary group in the budget debate.

Everything will be done in time, commented Alexis Haritsis when asked if he will be appointed head of the KO.

According to information, Areti Papaioannou and Michalis Hourdakis are both members of parliament who recently became independent from the Freedom Movement, close to joining the same group.

Speaking to SKAI, Rodops MP Ferhat Ozgiur – who is among the nine who are leaving SYRIZA – said that a Parliamentary Group is being formed to begin with. For the head, he said that the relevant announcements will be made soon.
