The Deputy Minister emphasizes that the country is moving in the right direction to achieve the goal of increasing the participation of industry, as a percentage of GDP, to 15% by 2030.
In 2024, the licensing of an investment in Greece will be done through the office and from the entrepreneur’s computer, without hassle and without bureaucracy. This was noted by the Deputy Minister of Development, Anna Mani-Papadimitriou, in an interview she gave to APE-MPE, referring to the effort being made to further reduce bureaucracy. However, as the deputy minister added, the simplification of the business environment has already borne fruit, and this is proven by the increase in entrepreneurship and investments and by the rise of the country in relevant international indices.
However, the effort to digitize the licensing procedures of a new investment does not stop, she continued and reminded that within the “NotifyBusiness” platform that most businesses now use, the Integrated Business Information System will soon be fully operational. and Audits, “and this will decisively reduce the administrative burden for businesses”.
The deputy minister underlines that, guided by the National Strategy for Industry, the country is moving in the right direction to achieve the goal of increasing the participation of industry, as a percentage of GDP, to 15% by 2030. This means, as she added, a significant increase of jobs, systematic strengthening of domestic production and strengthening of the interconnection of the country with the important European and global supply networks.
Especially on the issue of the lack of human resources, Mrs. Mani points out that the Ministry of Development has already mobilized as it deals with entrepreneurship. With the establishment of the National System of Vocational Education and Training, a holistic reform of vocational education is attempted, for a more effective interface with the real needs of the labor market, emphasis is placed on the connection of research and innovation with industry and the market and, at the same time, because the government recognizes the need for the continuous development of human resources in the modern labor market, important training programs are planned and implemented, which are supported by funds from the European Union, the Recovery Fund and the NSRF.
