The Turkish Minister of Defense referred to the Greek-Turkish relations, speaking in positive words, but he did not fail to refer once again to the “blue homeland”.
The Minister of Defense of Turkey sent messages about Eurofighters and F-16s, Yasar Guler in his speech while also referring to the Greek F-35s pointing out that they are not a threat. According to what he reported the correspondent of SKAI in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidisthe Turkish Minister of Defense referred to the Greek-Turkish relations, speaking in positive words, but he did not fail to refer once again to the “blue homeland”.
“With Greece, the goal is dialogue, good neighborliness. We will not undermine our national interests,” Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said.
“With the support of our noble nation and the means of our state, our Turkish Armed Forces, which are an efficient and powerful army in their region and in the world, successfully fulfill all the tasks they undertake, from ensuring the security of of our borders to the fight against terrorism, from the protection of our rights and interests in our ‘Blue and Heavenly homeland’ to the contribution to international peace and stability” said Yasser Güler.
“Within the Athens Declaration signed between the two countries, we aim to continue the process with good neighborly relations, dialogue and a positive agenda. Of course, I would like to emphasize that we will never undermine our national interests by striving for a peaceful solution and that we are fully committed to this issue,” Güler added.
“The Greek F-35s are not a threat to Turkey of 85 million inhabitants”
Regarding the Greek F-35s, the Turkish minister asked about Greece’s armaments pointed out that “they are not a threat to Turkey, a country of 85 million inhabitants” and added that “the important thing is to have a deterrent force”, he stated and added how they will use the S-400.
“We really want to establish good neighborly relations with Greece. Having only F-35s is not a threat to Turkey, a country of 85 million people. The important thing is to have deterrent power. Under the leadership of our President, we will continue to increase our deterrent power and maintain good relations with our neighbors,” Guler said and continued:
“Someone attacks us and we didn’t use the defensive weapon? Today, one country does not attack another country saying “I will attack in 2 hours”. In case of war, they will be stockpiled, planes will be moved, hundreds of trains and wagons will be moved, conscription will be declared, and so on. In other words, it is very difficult for one country to launch an air attack on another country without anyone knowing. We have repeatedly stated that we will not hesitate to use the S-400 when the need arises,” he emphasized.
Manolis Kostidis points out that although the Turkish minister referred to the “blue homeland” there is no longer a map of it anywhere, while despite the fact that Libya was also mentioned in his speech, no mention was made of the Turkish-Libyan memorandum.
President of the central bank: In Istanbul, rents exceeded those of Manhattan”
At the same time, the statement of the president of the central bank of Turkey, who stated that she cannot find a house to live in due to the high rents in Istanbul, has caused chaos in the Turkish media, so she has moved in with her mother.
“I couldn’t find a house, I moved to my mother’s house,” said the president of the central bank. According to Manolis Kostidis, the president highlighted the big problem with rents in Istanbul, which with her salary of around 12,000 euros, cannot find a house, with the result that the problem becomes even bigger for lower paid citizens.
The issue was brought up by the Turkish media and the Turkish newspapers with Cumhuriyet commenting: “The boss also became homeless” and the Turkish Sozcu: “He has a huge salary, but he can’t find a house to stay”.
“Rents are very expensive. We didn’t manage to find a house, so I settled in my mother’s house.” These words belong to Hafiz Gaye Erkan, the president of the Central Bank of Turkey. With these words of the new president of the Central Bank, the discussion of rent increases has returned,” Show TV points out, among other things, in its news bulletin.
