“The position of Antonis Samaras regarding the disputed amendment is not a problem for the government because it is important to explain to the citizens the feasibility and necessity of a choice” emphasized the government representative Pavlos Marinakis speaking on the show “Today” on SKAI, making it clear at the same time that any member of the ND who does not vote for it, will be deleted.

“The important thing is the passing of the amendment” he noted and clarified that the law “it gives a residence permit for work, it does not refer to a right of residence and only concerns 30,000 people”. He also noted that this is not an arrangement that will last forever: “As long as the work permit exists, so does the residence permit,” he explained.

Responding to those who argue that the amendment “puts immigrants out of the window and that it is a matter of public order”, Mr. Marinakis expressed the question: “What is safer for the country, to have people who are not registered for 7 years or to we know who they are and where they work.”

When asked why he is reacting, Mr. Samaras replied that he himself cannot be the interpreter of a former president and former prime minister.

In fact, in the event that a deputy of the party does not vote for the relevant amendment, he made it clear that eparty discipline is self-evident, specifying that those who do not vote for it will be deleted.

Asked specifically about the former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and what a possible vote against him would mean, Mr. Marinakis replied that “it will be an expression of a former Prime Minister, while a few 24 hours ago we had the vote of the budget which is a vote of confidence in the government”.

“The immigration policy of the country has been judged, as flows have decreased by 85% and the waiting time for asylum has gone from two years to two months, while pending applications have decreased by 90%,” Mr. Marinakis emphasized.

On the topic of violence, he said that the government has decided to “break eggs” while regarding the placement of a bomb in the MAT he noted that the police are proceeding with the investigations, he added however that there is still no clear picture and that he cannot answer hypothetically. Regarding the cameras, he concluded, they will go in where the law provides.
