It is noted that the entire discussion process on the subject of Sweden lasted exactly one month as it started on November 16.
“Gesture of goodwill”
Already in the last few days, Ankara has been sending messages that the issue of Sweden is coming to an end. Committee chairman Fuat Oktai said last Thursday that the committee could convene next week to discuss the protocol and could approve it before sending it to the National Assembly as a “goodwill gesture”.
Procedurally, after the bill is approved by the Committee, it must be put to a vote in the National Assembly and if approved signed into law by President Erdogan.
Meanwhile, in Washington two days ago, the meeting took place High Level delegations of Turkey and the USA on Defense matters.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense “at the meeting which took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, negotiations and exchanges of views were held on bilateral defense, military training and cooperation in the field of defense industry as well as on regional and international security issues”
