Despite the work of the social kitchen, there should not be any of our fellow citizens who need the support of such structures to be able to meet their most basic living needs, said Mr. Haritsis.
The president of K.O. of the New Left Alexis Haritsis and a party delegation visited today the social kitchen of the Municipality of Keratsini – Drapetsonas and talked to volunteers, workers and citizens.
Mr. Haritsis stated that this is a service with “very important social work”, while he added that “there should not normally be our fellow citizens who need the support of such structures to be able to meet their most basic living needs”.
His statement in detail:
We are here today in the social center of the municipality of Keratsini and Drapetsona, a structure that offers the precious good of food, food to hundreds of our fellow citizens, Greeks and foreigners. It is a service that really performs a very important social work.
Certainly, a few days before 2024 enters, there should normally not be any of our fellow citizens who need the support of such structures to be able to meet their most basic vital needs. But until we get there, until all our fellow citizens can meet their basic needs without the support of such structures as the social sisitium here in Keratsini, the state should support these structures and the state should listen and to respond to the fair requests of pioneering municipalities such as the municipality of Keratsiniou and Drapetsonas.
For our part, as the New Left, we pledge to fight against accuracy, fight against poverty. And of course, we will support with all our strength such initiatives which respond in practice to the policy of the over-profitability of the few and the impoverishment of the many. For social dignity and social justice. Happy birthday everyone.
