With his post, the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, responds to the criticism regarding the invitation to the party’s MPs for a three-day working meeting in Spetses.

Earlier it became known that Mr. Kasselakis invited 35 MPs of the party for a three-day stay in Spetses from January 19 to 21.

“While the propaganda media are talking about a ‘trip’, we will have a three-day working day, as is customary in other countries and is an extremely productive and effective process”, says the president of SYRIZA.

I know that much of what I do is unusual in the Greek political scene.

I have invited the SYRIZA MPs to my house in Spetses – which in January is far from the image of a tourist destination.
We will be together for a whole three days, each of us will analyze his proposals in his field and we will draw up our common strategy.

It is very important that the Members of Parliament participate in drawing the political line in each bill, regardless of personal expertise and constituency. As I have said repeatedly, the new SYRIZA does not have a “close circle”, we are all one fist. The official opposition will fight both in Parliament and on the streets as a solid group.

These are not done in meetings of a few hours.

Personally, I will not enter Greek politics either with the conservative stereotypes of the Right or with an eye on the bullying of the regime media.
