Meeting under the Prime Minister on fan violence – Next week the announcements

A working meeting was held today under the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Palace, with the aim of examining the measures to be submitted at the institutional and operational level to address the fan violence.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Citizen Protection Panagiotis Theodorikakos, the Minister of Justice Konstantinos Tsiaras, the Minister of State George Gerapetritis, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Lefteris Avgenakis, the Deputy Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister the Deputy Government Representative Aristotle Peloni.

According to information from skai.gr, the plan for dealing with fan violence will be ready within the next week, which will include the measures announced a few days ago by the government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomou, after the murder of 19-year-old Alkis in Thessaloniki. .

The government plan will move in line with what the government has previously announced with measures in three directions:

1. to further tighten the institutional framework regarding the operation of the Fan Clubs and their branches,

2. the necessary adaptations of the Penal Code and

3. the intensification of controls by the Hellenic Post

At the same time, changes will be made in the way of administration of the Hellenic Football Federation.

According to government sources, the government is in open line with FIFA and UEFA to provide know-how.

The announcements of the measures will be made next week.
