PASOK clearly distanced itself from the statements against the marriage of same-sex couples by the member of parliament, Panagiotis Paraskevaidis, while at the same time giving a sharp answer to Adonis Georgiadis.

In particular, party officials stated that “The views of Mr. Paraskevaidis, as expressed in his interview, do not in any way reflect the positions of the party”.

Regarding the statements by Georgiadis, who called on Mr. Androulakis to condemn Mr. Paraskevaidis’ statements as homophobic, the same executives reply “however, don’t be in a hurry to make the former Holocaust denier, Adonis Georgiadis, the honoree. Let the government look at their house and the objections expressed by dozens of MPs and the former Prime Minister, Antonis Samaras”.

It is recalled that in his statements to ERT, Mr. Paraskevaidis had said “we cannot give children to same-sex couples, we will lead them to homosexuality. Same-sex couples are not going to increase our population. Let’s do it like Erdogan, who told every Turkala to have five children. Turkey has a population of 80-90 million with these proposals Erdoğan” he had characteristically added. While he described children as “national property” and hastened to state that children should not have a model of two men or two women to complement “we want a healthy family, in such families the children should go. To raise healthy citizens who will help the country rise”.
