Days of euphoria pass in Perissos. And they are not afraid of the new front that has opened with the New Left because of the statement of Dimitris Koutsoubas yesterday in the Parliament that the marriage of same-sex couples means the abolition of paternity – motherhood. However, it is expected to be a “serial” that will have continuations among the forces of the Left until the bill is voted in the Parliament.

The 7.63% of last June is not the highest percentage that the KKE has achieved. However, the situation with the decline of SYRIZA and the fragmentation of the leftist forces has given Dimitris Koutsoubas the right to plan a return to double-digit percentages. Of course, these times are quite distant. The Communist party’s greatest electoral success – not counting the single era of the Coalition – was achieved in 1981. Almost 43 years ago, on its big day PASOK, had “climbed” to 10.93% showing the transformation of Greek society. The second largest percentage achieved it four years later (9.89%).

A special meeting of the K.E. will be held. to collect proposals for the composition of the European ballot, election slogans, but also information leaflets.

The KKE did not change its strategy, which is socialism, it changed its tactics to some extent in the last national elections and appeared more accessible. The profile of the secretary of the KE also helped in this, as he is liked by the youth. In the region of Attica, Yiannis Protoulis took third place (14%) and the increase in the voter turnout compared to the regional elections of May 2019 (8.28%) was 60%.
