Next week, the cybersecurity bill will be submitted to the parliamentary committees, so that “there will be a body responsible for all organizations, services – public and private – that will protect us from attacks”, announced the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou in his television interview with SKAI. In fact, he emphasized that we must “secure all these infrastructures so as not to allow someone malicious to invade our personal data. However, citizens must also be particularly careful,” advised Mr. Papastergiou.

The minister underlined that “a European legislation is coming which now lays new foundations and obliges the platforms to follow specific protocols. Each country creates its own authority, its own body which will even send the complaints to the platforms on the same day and they in turn will have to respond within a certain period of time”. In the meantime, he noted that 300,000 questions were submitted to the digital assistant, while in Gov.gr Wallet approximately 160,000 citizens “downloaded” the my Auto application to their mobile phones, which collects all the information about our car. The minister repeated that in the coming days the blood donor card will be added to the wallet, as well as the academic status and the professional qualities.

With regard to the personal number, he said that “it will be the number that will open any procedure for us in the State. The personal number will be written on the back of our identity card.”
