With the ambassador of Switzerland in Athens, Stefan Estermanmet the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Dimitris Kairides. Mr. Kairides, after thanking the government of Switzerland for the support to Greece in dealing with the Migration, proceeded to sign a new agreement, amounting to 2.4 million Swiss francs, for the orderly operation of the safe areas for unaccompanied minors, in Klistes Controlled Structures in Samos, Chios, Leros and Kos, in the context of the special financial program totaling 40 million Swiss francs.
This agreement begins on February 1, 2024 and is valid for one year.
At the same time, the further course of the framework agreement was discussed between Greece and Switzerlandwhich includes actions for the integration and protection of unaccompanied minors, with both sides confirming their cordial cooperation and looking forward to its strengthening.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Sofia Vultepsithe general secretary of Migration Policy, Patroklos Georgiadis, the general secretary of Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection, Herakles Moscowthe head of the Swiss Mission, the head of the Swiss Contribution office for Greece and Cyprus, and the national program officer, Konstantinos Murtezas.
