At its meeting Political Committee of the European People’s Party which took place in Brussels, was attended by the Secretary of the Political Committee of the New Democracy and Member of Parliament B2 of the Western Sector of Athens Maria Syregela. The meeting was chaired by the President of the EPP Manfred Weber and the General Secretary of the EPP Thanasis Bakola, in the presence of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The participants exchanged views on the EPP manifesto ahead of the 2024 European elections and discussed the preparations ahead of the EPP Congress, which will take place in Bucharest on March 6-7.

During her stay at BrusselsMs. Syregela was the keynote speaker at an event organized by NODE of Belgium and the Secretariat of Greeks of the Diaspora of the New Republic.

The main topic of the discussion was the postal vote for Greeks abroad, which was passed by the Greek Parliament last week, and the activation of the party mechanism ahead of the June 9 European elections.

At the event, the Vice-President of the European People’s Party and head of the ND Eurogroup addressed a greeting, Vangelis Meimarakis, the MEPs Stelios Kymbouropoulos, Eliza Vozeberg-Vryonidis and Anna-Michel Asimakopoulou, the General Secretary of the EPP Thanasis Bakolas and the Secretary of Greeks of the Diaspora of the ND, Nikos Theodoropoulos. Also present were the Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas and the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas.
