According to information transmitted from Istanbul by Manolis Kostidis, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ trip to Ankara will take place in the first ten days of May.

Turkish security sources: “We do not accept conditions for F-16s – We will use them anywhere without asking anyone”

Turkish security sources told Aksam newspaper: “It is absurd that something like this comes to the news. The Greek side is doing what it always does. Is it possible for Turkey to accept something like this! No one can even offer such a thing to the Turkish side, let alone accept it. Turkey, as an independent country that can make its own decisions, will use the F-16s it buys wherever needed, without asking anyone.

On the other hand, the process is progressing positively. There is a 15-day objection period to Congress. If there is no objection from the committee members, the request to sell and modernize will be accepted without a vote. There has been no objection so far. We don’t think there will be any objection from now on. The process seems to be completed positively.”

US turns a blind eye to Turkey for F-35s

After the visit of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to Turkey, the Turkish media reports that “if the US wants to send us the F-35s, they must also provide anti-aircraft systems”.

For the Russian S-400 they ask the question: “Should we send them to Libya, Qatar or Somalia?”

The dean of MEF University, Mustafa Kimbaroglu, said: “The first package of S-400s we received has the old system and does not distinguish friendly or enemy aircraft. We have as a request from Russia to get the second package that will install the systems that separate friendly and enemy aircraft. We have to get Russia’s permission and I don’t think this issue has been resolved.”

Haberturk anchor Mehmet Akif Ersoy reported: “Okay, shall we take it again? Basically I would ask if we should return what we have. As well as our title is this. Should we return the S-400s, should we inactivate them, should we take them elsewhere. And I mean the following, we have a base in Qatar, we have a base in Somalia, we have a base in Libya.”

Kimbaroglu replied: “As next door is fraternal Azerbaijan. Look at all the decisions that were made, they were not written in stone. They change, they can change. But if you make such a decision you must bring something in their place. The US is telling us send them and I might give you F-35s and anti-aircraft systems, that has to be done with actions.”

Turkish media: “Greece with F-35 and other weapons will gain air superiority against Turkey”

“Turkish F-16s will not be able to detect Greek F-35s”

SOZCU TV report: “Greece is not only getting F-35s, it will get three additional ships, 4 corvettes as given and approval for the concession of dozens of armored combat vehicles. In the event that there are no objections from Congress and this sale takes place, then in the Blue Homeland the papers will be distributed again! Let them not forget the sentence ‘one night we can come suddenly’.

Greece, however, will include 40 invisible F-35s, 3 warships and dozens of armored vehicles. Greece will have the F-35s which have sophisticated radar and electronic systems. While our F-16s won’t be able to spot them.

The US isn’t just conceding. F-35 will soon pave the way for the sale of modern transport aircraft as well as air supply. Thus, Greece will acquire the ability to carry out air operations as far as Cyprus. So the US is not only bolstering Turkey’s most nervous neighbor, and it has led it to have air superiority.”
