With his intervention on SKAI TV and the SIMERA show the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis Christos Triandopoulos wanted to clarify the operation and implementation of the state aid scheme for farmers and businesses.

“It is a scheme that is implemented in collaboration with the ministry and the regional committees, so far 14% are not the files that have been processed – and we are referring to the compensation for the equipment – are the files submitted by the farmers and this flow is increasing“, he stated.

“Those farmers who have registered on the platform have been paid. About 40 million have been paid to 19,000 farmers so far who have applied to the platform”.

“From today, payments begin at 50% of the compensation that the farmer who has submitted his file is expected to receive, that is, it can be 50, 60, 70,000, that is, half of the compensation he is entitled to for the damage he has caused. Therefore, we call on all farmers to submit their files to receive the state aid, i.e. the significant amount of the damage”

“It is an ongoing process which is done after checks,” he added

“Farmers’ concerns are reasonable, we fully respect them,” said Mr. Triandopoulos
