With the inclusion of the construction of three school units in the municipalities of Fylis, Spaton-Artemida and Galatsi, with a total budget of 10.91 million euros, the Region of Attica is rapidly advancing the strengthening of education mechanisms and infrastructure, through the “Attica” 2021 Program -2027 with the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund.

“Investing in education is an absolute priority for the Attica Region” said the Attica Region Governor Nikos Hardalias and added: “It is our primary concern to ensure that all our children in the sixty-six neighborhoods of Attica will have equal access to education, with modern and well-equipped infrastructures, corresponding to the rest of the European countries. We implement our strategic development plan throughout Attica and for this purpose we use every last euro from every available financial tool. With systematic and methodical work, I am sure we will succeed.”

In particular, the “Attiki” 2021-2027 program included the construction of the 5th High School of Ano Liosion in the Municipality of Fylis with a budget of 4.6 million euros, the 3rd Nineth Grade Gymnasium of Artemis in the amount of 4.97 million euros, as well as the 3rd Kindergarten of Galatsi with a budget of 4.6 million euros 1.34 million euros.

The new school units, which will meet the needs of 455 children in total, will have state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories (technology, natural sciences, aesthetic education, IT, etc.), foreign language rooms, libraries, auxiliary spaces (rest, food, etc.) and disabled-accessible sanitary complexes.

To date, in Policy Objective 4 of the new “Attiki” Program 2021-2027, 15 school building projects have been included, with a total budget of €40 million, with “Building Infrastructure S.A.” as the beneficiary, as well as 23 Maturation Studies of school units amounting to €4 million.
