The institutional descent of the ND-Mitsotakis government continues until its final fall, says SYRIZA-PS in a statement.

The announcement in detail

“The European Parliament with a resolution calls on the Commission to take action on the rule of law in Greece, the freedom of the press, the wiretapping scandal and the investigation of the crime of Tempi. The government pretends nothing is happening, while its officials and its deputies do not hesitate to show its true face.

Last Tuesday, the government MP Dimitris Markopoulos, chairman of the Commission of Inquiry for Tempi, called a journalist a “yousufaki” on a TV show, and the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, today called another journalist “authorized”.

Because they were asked journalistic questions they didn’t like.

This is the ND’s understanding of the role of media and journalism.

Respect for the freedom to exercise the journalistic function is obviously an unknown concept, not only to Mr. Markopoulos, known for his style and ethics, but also to the government as a whole, as evidenced by the arrogant behavior of its representative.

Apparently, this is what their party taught them, which is used to seeing the media as a means of projecting government propaganda and undermining – slandering its political opponents.

Let the citizens consider that Dimitris Markopoulos has been appointed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis as the president of the Commission of Inquiry into the Tempe tragedy and Pavlos Marinakis is the official spokesperson of the political perception.

Two toxic politicians, who do not fundamentally respect the rules of ethics in public debate, are called to perform leading institutional roles.

This is the ND’s understanding of institutions.

Her problem is that they got word of her in Europe. When the news manages to penetrate Greece as well, her panic is not hidden”.
