“Headache” prevails in many camps and this was shown by the “hidden” in the Parliament about who will submit a request for a roll call vote

Next week the political debate will focus on same-sex couples. The bill comes in on Wednesday in the Plenary and is voted on the following day. “Headache” prevails in many camps and this was shown by the “hidden” in the Parliament about who will submit a request for a roll call vote. The Greek Solution initially came out ahead, but the party of Kyriakos Velopoulos has 12 MPs. The request for “cooperation” that was made (15 signatures are required) did not find a response and thus the Greek Solution partnership with Niki is expected to provide the solution.
New Democracy, SYRIZA, PASOK, but also KKE have the required number of MPs. However, no one proceeded to file a roll call request. The truth is that they still had time to think about it. Were they afraid that their internal party problems would come to light? Both Koumoundourou and Harilaou Trikoupi wish to highlight the “losses” that the majority will record in the specific bill. It is estimated that SYRIZA would not let this opportunity go to waste. In PASOK, a double-digit number of those who express skepticism about the bill with the leading group, however, claim that the final losses will be in single digits. In SYRIZA, no one knows yet how Pavlos Polakis and Athina Linou will behave and whether abstention is the solution in order not to “activate” the party discipline that Stefanos Kasselakis had talked about.
The way things are at the moment, it will be the first bill that New Democracy will not pass based on its own forces, but with the opposition MPs. The “abstentions” and “no” votes for the government faction cannot be ruled out to reach a total of 40. The Parliament next Thursday will present a very different picture. It’s a very different condition. Everyone will be looking for those who will be missing, while the phones are expected to catch fire until the last minute. The “massage” continues in PASOK as well. It will even be necessary to hold a third meeting of the parliamentary group before the crucial time of voting. It is a fact that the majority has come under pressure from its right. Already the Greek solution is presented with increased strength in the latest opinion polls. It’s just that the government camp believes that soon enough the dust that has risen will “settle” and that there is enough time until the European elections.
