The pre-election period is underway in Turkey ahead of the municipal elections at the end of March.

And in these elections, the Turkish president is the protagonist, for whom a pre-election song was also made, as Manolis Kostidis broadcasts from Istanbul.

“Erdogan is the man of the people, a fellow traveler of the poor,” says the song’s lyrics.

“He himself loves justice, he is the light of hope for millions of people. Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan is the supporter of the oppressed and the fellow traveler of the poor. Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the supporter of the oppressed, he is the fellow traveler of the poor

He is the man of the people and he himself loves justice, he is the light of hope for millions of people. Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the supporter of the oppressed and the fellow traveler of the poor. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he is the supporter of the oppressed, he is the fellow traveler of the poor” says the song.

In Turkey they are celebrating the sale of F-16s

“There was no objection in Congress, the sale was approved”

“F-16s will arrive in three years at the earliest”

OILUM TALOU- HABERTURK PRESENTER: “The waiting period in Congress for the sale of F-16s to Turkey is over. In this process there was no objection and this means that the sale of the fighters was approved. After all, there was no suspicion of objections. The question, of course, is when these aircraft will arrive and what will be their contribution to Turkey’s defense industry.”

HUSEIN BAGJI- PRESIDENT OF THE FOREIGN POLICY INSTITUTE: “The sale of the F-16s as well as their modernization means that Turkey is strengthening its air force and maintaining its position in the airwaves. Granting F-35s to Greece and not granting them to Turkey does not mean that there will be an attack on Turkey as both countries are members of NATO. All NATO countries receive weapons from the US and Turkey will at some point return to the F-35 program.”

METEXAN NTEMIR-JOURNALIST: “For the F-16 delivery program to begin we will have to wait at least 3 years. The modernization kits will be able to be granted a little earlier and it is important that they join the Air Force at least a little earlier.”

The US ambassador in Ankara is satisfied with the sale of F-16s to Turkey

“Turkey’s F-16 fleet is vital to NATO”

A HABER TELEVISION NETWORK: The process of the sale of F-16s to Congress was completed without any objection or objection. There was also a post by the US ambassador in Ankara, Jeff Flake, about this issue.

TZEF FLAKE- US AMBASSADOR IN ANKARA: The decision of Congress this week to approve the acquisition of 40 new and 79 upgraded F-16 aircraft from Turkey is a big step forward. Turkey’s F-16 fleet is vital to NATO’s strength, ensuring future interoperability between allies.”

Turkish analysts: “Greek Rafale aircraft are a serious threat to Turkey and will create problems”

Cetiner Cetin, director of HABERTURK’s Security Policy department: “However, if we look at the weapon systems in relation to Greece, maybe in the future the F-35s will not create a big difference, however the Rafales they have create a difference. We must emphasize this. But on this issue (of F-35s) we have a position that Greece has no territorial depth. A country that does not have such depth cannot have much advantage even if it has heavy weapons and such aircraft. Because Greece doesn’t have that depth, they don’t cause us much fear. But I can’t say that about the Rafales as these aircraft have the potential to be a threat and create problems for us.”
