Everything was brought by in the presence of Stefanos Kasselakis in the much-discussed event, in which Dionysis Teboneras, Manolis Christodoulakis and Efi Ahtsioglou participated. His entrance, but also his stay until the questions from the audience turned all the lights on him.

Stefanos Kasselakis like all the members of his Central Committee SYRIZA received an invitation yesterday, but did not respond. Even his closest collaborators were surprised by his decision to finally go to the “ALFA” theater, which he had not confided in anyone.

Did the president of SYRIZA achieve his goal? He wanted to overshadow even the executive of SYRIZA who had a leading role in conducting this particular debate.

The truth is that from the first moment leaders of the official opposition, even members of parliament, showed their displeasure. They were even talking about legalizing it New Left which a few months ago had split SYRIZA for the second time. It is certain that even these executives did not know that in the end his president would decide to attend the event.

The intense surprise, however, yesterday in the theater was diffused in the room.

“Hello Stefan” was the awkward reaction of Efi Ahtsioglou when the president of SYRIZA sat in the front seats. When after the end of its placement the moderator, Dimitris Terzisinvited Mr. Kasselakis to address a greeting, he replied that he has his representative on the panel, pointing to Dionysis Tebonera. The president of SYRIZA left the dressing rooms due to the large crowd at the main entrance, after first greeting all three officials who participated in the discussion.

The event was attended by, among others G. Dragasakis, P. Kouroumplis, A. Kotsakas, H. Tsiokas, Sp. Danellis, G. Ioakeimidis, N. Manios, A. Nefeloudis, Evkl. Tsakalotos, D. Vitsa, G. Bulbasakos, T. Margaritis, K. Batzeli, G. Sgouros and representatives of organizations such as G. Kavvathas, G. Hatzitheodosiou, D. Vervesos etc.

The main points of the positioning of the three officials were as follows: Dionysis Teboneras pointed out that the only concern is to support and strengthen “our home, SYRIZA”, adding that “the history of the Left has always been a history not only of divisions, but also of large compositions.

This is also the reason why I do not share the decision of my former comrades to leave SYRIZA-PS. Today much more, we need addition and not subtraction.” The member of the P.G. he pointed out that “only SYRIZA-PS can undertake political initiatives, in the direction of the restructuring and reorganization of the progressive space, without a trace of petty party selfishness. It is urgent to take initiatives for the immediate coordination of democratic forces. With processes that start from the grassroots, for the creation of “democracy fronts” throughout the country.

Manolis Christodoulakis pointed out that “against the politics of the New Democracy, we must put forward positions, ideas, history, values, principles. Those that I, at least personally, consider that only PASOK and the democratic faction can shape and express in a leading role”.

The former secretary of SYRIZA wondered: “can this debate be limited within our party walls?” We have to encourage convergences from below, to come forward with what we agree on. We are not talking about fusions of parties and mechanisms.”

Efi Ahtsioglou pointed out that “this political space that will manage to unify social forces, in my opinion, is neither in today’s PASOK nor in today’s SYRIZA”, adding that the New Left sets three goals: “social equality, climate justice, restarting the Republic”. The former Minister of Labor pointed out that “the coalition of social forces will neither be able to form politically nor express itself dominantly if the ideological battle is not fought. The Right in the country has been systematically fighting the ideological battle for decades. The left and center-left forces often avoid fighting this battle, with the result that a dominance of right-wing discourse has been achieved in Greek society.”

Same-sex couples

Today the debate on the civil marriage of same-sex couples begins in the Parliament and it is expected to be voted on tomorrow. There is still no clear picture if there will be “losses” or abstentions in SYRIZA and if in this case disciplinary measures will be taken by Stefanos Kasselakis. According to information during yesterday’s EPEKE held online regarding the bill for same-sex couples, no safe conclusion seems to have been reached.

The reduced participation of the MPs (several were represented through partners) who chose to connect reportedly caused a question in principle about who will finally speak in the Parliament. According to the same sources, the super moderator of the organ, Pavlos Polakis, was not present with Elena Akrita moderating the discussion. In the closed session, among others, besides Ms. Akrita, Petros Pappas and Athina Linou took the floor.

The professor of epidemiology, as she had pointed out in Spetses, believes that the current law is unfair to heterosexual – same-sex couples, the children who will be born and the women who will become pregnant.

The purpose of the SYRIZA amendment, as she reiterates, is to protect children born through surrogacy from the risks of trafficking, exploitation and trafficking. The information states that Mrs. Linou is waiting for the majority’s attitude regarding the specific amendment of SYRIZA and after discussing with her colleagues she will take her decisions on how to proceed.
