“We are making an effort to reverse the negative electoral course that was reflected in two elections in 2023, the unfavorable polling course”the SYRIZA MP told SKAI and the SIMERA show Kostas Zachariadis.

“No one has questioned the leadership we elected six months ago, but we elected the leadership so that our party could stabilize, take political initiatives. We are fighting for the party to do better. We are a collective party, we must function democratically, we elected a president and not a monarch,” he emphasized

Mr. Zachariadis made it clear in all tones how “There is no question of leadership 100 days before the elections.”

“I always avoid maxims, a good result is to maintain the majority of the forces we had in the national elections at 17%, I do not set the bar high, that is, to come out first, but I do not consider acceptable a result that will change the political geography of the country and we will not be second”, underlined and added how “this is very important and if it happens it will have consequences for everyone, it will be a major political event.”

“Our goal is to stabilize the party, make it stronger, let Stefanos Kasselakis stay and claim to be first in the National elections. Our aim is for the leadership to pass this bar, to be a party that will be stabilized and the world will perceive it”, he repeated.

“As long as the rivalry is about how the third will become second, the first celebrates. We have farmers on the street, students on the street, the issue of accuracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis is debating whether he will be first in the polls,” he said.

Regarding a scenario for the return of Alexis Tsipras, Kostas Zachariadis commented the following: “Alexis Tsipras is a very young man, he is an active parliamentarian, an active politician in Europe. Everything that happened and we can discuss about SYRIZA today, which went from 3% to 33%, has the signature of Alexis Tsipras. From there on there are recommendations, it has always been a positive recommendation not only for our party but for our country and for the entire European political system”.
