“We are proceeding to a conference and the conference will decide whether we will also proceed with the election of a new leadership, a new president or a new president”the parliamentary representative of SYRIZA, Dionysis Kalamatianos, reported to SKAI and the show “Morning” with George Autias.

“We continue our work, we move forward with unity and collegiality in the operation of the parliamentary group. This is what we have a duty to do for the world of faction. Society is suffering from the government’s policy and we have a duty as the official opposition to provide solutions and a way out,” he added.

Regarding the Tsipras intervention, Mr. Kalamatianos emphasized that ” Alexis Tsipras he established with his text that things are not going well, that SYRIZA does not deserve this social and poll decline. With his text, he invited us to determine how we operate, to determine what we will do because we are a party of power, with a government perspective. And we’ve lost that because we obviously don’t express the world.”

The parliamentary representative of SYRIZA noted that “SYRIZA needs a serious, coherent and effective policy that responds to society’s problems. I don’t believe anyone questioned the president and his election. The question is with which policy and which party will we address society so that society can trust us. Certainly, with one person the thing cannot proceed properly. The issue is how we will have a group, coherent, serious, with a political proposal and an effective party because we need a serious official opposition. The people who support SYRIZA have been hurt.”

Asked about the possible candidacy of Olga Gerovassilis, Mr. Kalamatianos stated: “Olga Gerovasili is an excellent candidate. There are excellent candidates in the executive staff of SYRIZA. Let’s see what the body will decide.”

“The main thing is that whoever is elected respects the collective decisions, respects the members and the base of the party. If we go ahead with the election of a new leadership, everyone must commit that they will stay and continue with unity and respect for the collective process and with unity,” he added.

Regarding the dismissal of D. Teboneras as a scientific collaborator of K.O., Mr. Kalamatianos emphasized: “Dionysis Teboneras was and remains a friend and collaborator.”
