The HYDRA frigate – which will sail to participate in the Eunavfor Aspides operation in the Red Sea – was visited at the Salamis Naval Station by the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, after today’s KYSEA meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
After the relevant decision of KYSEA, which met under @PrimeministerGRI visited the HYDRA Frigate at the Salamis Naval Station, which will sail to participate in Operation #EUNAVFOR #ASPIDES in the Red Sea.

“The participation of the frigate, along with the assumption of command of the operational headquarters by Greece with a Greek Commander, primarily serves the national interests.
Greece, as a maritime power with a leading role in global shipping, attaches great importance to the need to ensure free navigation and the lives of Greek sailors, as well as the standard of living of our country’s citizens,” he wrote on his personal account on H o k Dendias.
The Minister of National Defense was welcomed by the Chief of Defense Forces, General Dimitrios Houpis, the Chief of General Defense Forces, Vice-Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras, and the Chief of the Fleet, Vice-Admiral Polychronis Koulouris.
