Mr. Arvanitis also spoke about the opinion polls that show the decline of SYRIZA, saying that as long as SYRIZA feeds the news with internal affairs, the party will not rise
The SYRIZA MEP, Kostas Arvanitis, spoke to SKAI and the show “Today” about the opinion polls that show a new decline for SYRIZA shortly before the European elections and also about those responsible for the tragic accident in Tempe.
Regarding the polls, Mr. Arvanitis pointed out that as long as SYRIZA is the main topic in the broadcasts, the party will not rise. “From the moment SYRIZA stops feeding the news with internal affairs, we will go up,” said the MEP characteristically, while he estimates that ND doesn’t get 41% since there is an obvious fall of the government democratically.
“The main issue is how far the second is from the first” continued Mr. Arvanitis and he estimates that SYRIZA will be a clear second.
As for his intervention Alexis Tsipras shortly before the party’s conference, Mr. Arvanitis said “I too believed that Tsipras should have been at the conference and said what he wanted” while regarding his position he said that what Mr. Tsipras wanted to say was ” everyone get serious.”
Regarding the accident in Tempi, the SYRIZA MEP pointed out that “there is a complete cover-up” and that it is a criminal offence.
As he said, “politically and criminally responsible was Mr. Karamanlis, he was the minister we had for five years. I wonder what those interests were and what they are covering for Mr. Karamanlis which do not allow him to go to court. We want him and a previous minister to go to courts to give statements”.
