I did not get hold of the list of people who write in the system for the postal vote, that would be an illegal action he clarified on SKAI 100.3 radio the ND MEP Anna Michelle Asimakopoulouabout the informative emails he sent to Greeks abroad on the occasion of the European elections in a few months and the reactions that were caused afterwards.
He explained that as candidates, all MEPs are entitled to officially request and receive from the Ministry of the Interior a list of the electoral roll.
What I did is that I sent a newsletter to a list of recipients who said that in 100 days we have European elections, the postal vote has also been established and I asked: are you interested in the issues of the European elections and my own actions and only if they press registration information material will be sent.
“Some parties are trying to create the feeling that what I did has something to do with postal voting, it doesn’t,” clarified Mrs. Asimakopoulou.
