The SYRIZA MEP, after the controversy that broke out on the occasion of his statements regarding his participation in the writing of an article in a European Parliament resolution that foresees a cut in funds for Greece, if it does not comply, in response to the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, states that the part that wrote in the resolution that it does not concern a cut in funds for Greece.

In particular, Mr. Arvanitis states that “my contribution concerns article 27, which stipulates that Greek citizens should never be deprived of European funds or other support, as a result of the policies condemned by the EP, for which it is responsible only the government it is trying to defend”.

It is noted that Mr. Marinakis in his statement mentions about the SYRIZA-PS MEP: “He admitted and declared that he was proud to have been the initiator of the article on the cut of funds from Greece. Very serious things, they have no precedent, what are some people doing about Greece outside of Greece. You remember many cases of defamation of the country and this is another one.”

In his response, Mr. Arvanitis characterizes the government representative as a “prophet”, “since he completely ignores even the elementary procedures of co-formation of texts which are implemented by the recommendation of the European Parliament” and adds: “He could, of course, have addressed the Eurogroup of the New Democracy and they would assure him that all members of the political bodies of the European Parliament contribute and contribute to the respective final texts, as befits democratic and democratic processes. Therefore, Mr. Marinakis’ treasure is coal, and another deplorable mud campaign to cover the very embarrassing blue current of Brussels”.

Continuing, he states: “For the unprecedented decline of the international image of our country, if Mr. Marinakis is looking for the culprit, we refer him to Megaros Maximos. We will continue our fight until all the people who have been affected by the Mitsotakis discounts find justice in the Rule of Law. Until justice is given to the relatives of the dead in Tempe, the family of the murdered Karaivaz, the parents of Zak Kostopoulos”.

As a postscript, Mr. Arvanitis also touches on the issue of the “leakage of personal data of Greek citizens”, saying: “Since we are talking about Democracy, the response of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the leak of personal data consisted of only 19 words. Does Mrs. Kerameos think that she cleaned up like that, and remains undisturbed in her place?”
