It is the State’s obligation to institutionally recognize the term “femicide”
“Today is not a day of celebration as long as we live in a society where the brutality of gender violence is present and inequalities prevail“, underlines in his post the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis.
“As long as the number comes out smaller in the count and the State does not undertake substantial initiatives. It is not enough to mourn and condemn. It is the State’s obligation to institutionally recognize the term “femicide” and its actions for visibility, social welfare and substantial solidarity”, he notes.

“We owe a debt to those who broke their silence and stood on the front lines of the metoo movement, a debt to those who fight patriarchy and sexism every day in their workplaces, on the streets, in their own homes, a debt to the generations who fought but also to those who are coming, to deliver a different world”, emphasizes Mr. Kasselakis and concludes:
“A world where every femininity will feel safe. A world of inclusion and equality. A just world”.
