Mr. Marinakis and party officials met at the town hall of Trikala where they met with the mayor and president of KEDE Dimitris Papastergiou, with whom they talked about the major infrastructure projects underway in the municipality, the digitization of local government and modernization.

Afterwards, the secretary of the Political Committee and the organizational secretary of New Democracy met with the director of Primary Education of Trikala, Christos Trikalis, and the director of Secondary Education of Trikala, Lena Xinopoulou. The main topic of discussion was the coverage of the needs for educational staff, with the director of Primary Education emphasizing that the gaps, since last school year, are zero. As he characteristically mentioned, there is an overflow of positions in deputies, the appointments have been completed much earlier than the beginning of the school year, while there are no shortages, not even in specialties. Pavlos Marinakis stated that the emphasis given by the government in the field of Education is very great and stressed the fact that both directors of education spoke with arguments and facts, highlighting the great effort that has been made to fill the gaps in education. .
The last stop of the visit was the offices of DEEP Trikala, where a meeting was held with the members of DEEP and DIMTO of the prefecture of Trikala.

Our main priority is the people of our generation, but also younger than us, who have gone abroad and want to return to their homeland, to be able to do so.
Today and as in every visit, the purpose is twofold: On the one hand to promote the work of the government and on the other hand to record the needs of the place. Taxes are being reduced for the first time in years, investments and major infrastructure projects are taking shape, emblematic economic and social policy bills such as insurance, labor, changes to the Penal Code are being legislated incessantly. At the same time, the digital transformation of the state became a reality, while chronic pending issues are closing, such as the fact that for the first time teachers are hired after many years, something that we saw in our visit with the directors of Primary and Secondary Education.
Greece is changing with Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the helm, but also all citizens united in the most difficult situation: United against a pandemic, a crisis that has not existed for many decades, but also in a global inflation crisis. The problem of the inflation crisis is being taken seriously by the government, as it realizes how difficult it is for all citizens, without any populist sentiment and maximalist logics.
However, I would like to place special emphasis on the work that has been done in the prefecture of Trikala: E65, a personal commitment of the prime minister that is progressing and is no longer a model, the hydroelectric project in Mesochora which for me is perhaps the most emblematic work of this prefecture, the undergrounding of the 250 km irrigation network that will help the farmers, to whom I want to send a message, having created as president of ONNED a whole campaign for them, that we are by their side. Of course, the day care and employment center for children with disabilities is also very important, which is a social issue a priority of the Prime Minister and the government.
The truth is that this visit also had the character of recording the issues and problems, because those who do nothing do not make mistakes and we do not go blind. Obviously there are issues, which we are sure will be resolved, such as those I mentioned above with the cooperation of local government, chambers, MPs, government and civil society. We are here to make it clear that New Democracy is the only truly progressive and popular party, it is by its members, but also to all citizens for young and old and old, to deliver a better Greece to future generations ».
