“Greece was losing opportunities due to the movements made by PASOK in the issue of non-state universities”, the government representative emphasized
“The government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis took the first major decisive step to allow branches of foreign universities to operate in the country. We went from words to actions.” government representative Pavlos Marinakis reported to SKAI and on the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias.
As the government representative pointed out, “Mr. Pierrakakis left nothing unanswered for three days in the Parliament. What happened in parliament was shocking. There was not a single argument on the other side that made any rudimentary sense».
Asked about the day after the passing of the bill for non-state universities, Mr. Marinakis replied: “The next day is the start of the application with the strictest rules. We currently have 40,000 Greek students abroad, more than any other country in Europe. Think how many can return and how many jobs will be created in these institutions.”
“We will understand how historic a reform yesterday’s bill is for our country, if we ask how important it was for Cyprus what happened a few years ago, when Greece was losing opportunities from the first moves of the many that PASOK made in this regard the issue,” he added.
Also, the government representative pointed out that the funding of universities will be further increased, as he said “in this bill 1.5 billion euros are provided for public universities”
“PASOK denounces the degradation of public universities, which apparently did not even read the bill because 176 articles out of 205 referred to the public university.”
On the minimum wage, the government spokesman said that “the minimum wage must rise and it will rise above 800 euros. At the end of the four years, it will reach 950 euros”.
