Its meeting ended on Monday night Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on Tempi. The conclusion of New Democracy was approved by a majority.
There was no agreement between the parties for a common conclusion.
Episodic examination for Tempi
The last meeting of the Commission of Inquiry into the railway accident was episodic, with Zoe Konstantopoulou to repeatedly interrupt the rapporteur of New Democracy, Lazaros Tsavdaridis as well as the President of the committee, Dimitris Markopoulos, while she remained in the room.
“I have asked you to speak, Mr. Markopoulos. You are an instrument of cover-up and not the president of the examination board”, Zoe Konstantopoulou shouted at the beginning of the meeting from the benches, with Dimitris Markopoulos to comment that “what we experienced today from a former president is a shame for parliamentarism. Behaviors that exaggerate parliamentarism, we all understand the trade of sadness and grave-digging, the opportunity found by Zoe Konstantopoulou. Contractors of pain who do not fit into this committee.”
Zoi Konstantopoulou continued during the introduction of the ND rapporteur Lazarou Tsavdaridis, with herself shouting “what a shame”, “the crime became an accident”, “a finding of care”. In fact, when the rapporteur of SYRIZA, Vassilis Kokkalis, came up and before he took the floor, Mrs. Konstantopoulou fired her arrows at him, saying “Mr. Kokkalis, you too are doing the same.”
WHAT HAPPENED IN ROOM 223
Earlier, however, the examination session had been interrupted until 5:30 p.m., as Zoe Konstantopoulou had invaded the room from 3:00 p.m., 223 before the start of her work, with her refusing to leave even though she is not a member of the committee.
The meeting, which started one hour late (it was scheduled for 15.00), began with Ms. Konstantopoulou interrupting every speaker, shouting that she has submitted a request for the exemption of the Bureau of the committee with the “category” of “supporting the persons responsible for the accident of Tempe.
“Mrs Konstantopoulou, you have lost your reason and your temper. We will not make it a sidewalk here, you are constantly exposed, this is not parliamentary behavior”, emphasized the chairman of the investigation committee, Dimitris Markopoulos, while she continued to interrupt the rapporteur of the ND, Lazaros Tsavdaridis:
– ZOI KONSTANTOPOULOU: There is a request for your exemption, Mr. Markopoulos.
– DIMITRIS MARKOPOULOS: Mr. Tsavdaridis, continue as if Ms. Konstantopoulou does not exist. There is no!
– ZOI KONSTANTOPOULOU: 57 dead and go bury it Mr. Tsavdaridis!
– DIMITRIS MARKOPOULOS: Monday’s theater played in the 80s, please!
The president of the party was excluded from the committee when it started its work – last fall – because she is an advocate for the families of the victims. In her statement, she emphasized that she had informed the president of the Parliament about her presence today, while she argued speaking to parliamentary editors that she has not been excluded and is not being replaced by the member of parliament of her party, Eleni Karageorgopoulou, but is replacing her.
“We denounce Zoi Konstantopoulou”
We denounce Ms. Zoe Konstantopoulou for obstructing the work of today’s meeting of the Commission of Inquiry on the Tempe tragedyin violation of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, declared the ND deputy Lazaros Tsavdaridis.
“He demonstrated authoritarianism, anti-democratic and anti-parliamentary behavior. He issued threats against New Democracy MPs. And her practice of arbitrarily and illegally taking the floor, attempting to silence her fellow MPs, when she has been excluded as a member, exceeded all limits,” said the ND MP.
“The anti-democratic behavior, the grave-digging and the trivialization of the parliamentary procedures, has a name: Zoe Konstantopoulou. For so long, culminating in her current behavior, she claimed the monopoly that she is shocked, while all she is doing is inhumanely exploiting an unspeakable tragedy. this extreme behavior of hers will not pass” added Mr. Tsavdaridis.
Konstantopoulou: The government and ND are trying to compound their criminal responsibilities
“After the manipulation of the scene of the crime, the government and the ND are attempting the manipulation of their criminal responsibilities” said the president of Freedom of Movement, Z. Konstantopoulou, on the sidelines of the meeting of the commission of inquiry for the “investigation of the crime of Tempe” ». “What is being attempted today in the investigative committee is the compounding of criminal responsibilities, the support of criminals-persons criminally controlled for the crime of Tempe and the covering up of the responsibilities by obscuring the circumstances of the commission of the crime” said Ms. Konstantopoulou.
At the same time, she spoke of an illegal attempt to prevent her presence in the committee, as well as of the “bullying” she suffered from majority MPs when she tried to develop her request for an exemption from the committee’s presidency, because, as she said, “she is trying to cover up her responsibilities and criminally support controlled persons”.
He also emphasized that “what is being committed at this moment is punishable by itself. The board of the committee, and the MPs who are complicit in the cover-up and the issuing of a finding, in order to use it by the controlled government persons, that is, Mr. Karamanlis, Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Triandopoulos, is a criminal act and is being controlled,” said the Mrs. Konstantopoulou.
He also announced that as a representative of victims’ families, he will appear tomorrow before the Larissa appellant investigator in order to face “these cover-up actions as well”.
