A message to Athens, possibly also to Washingtonthe Turkish president reportedly sent on Tuesday Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the wake of the new Political Dialogue meeting in Ankara between the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandra Papadopoulou and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of her neighbor Ambassador Burak Axapar.

“The positive atmosphere which prevails lately with Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean, we hope it will bring concrete results” Tayyip Erdogan said meaningfully.

However, as reported by Manolis Kostidis, the Turkish president made it clear that “no rights-ignoring solution is possible and the interests as well as the sovereign equality of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”.

“We have been active for more than 70 years and a strong member of NATO, which is one of the cornerstones of our security. With our allied country in NATO, the USA in our last contacts of the Strategic Mechanism we decided strengthening our cooperation” write down.

“Our accession to the EU remains our strategic goal” added Tayyip Erdogan.
