For SYRIZA and PASOK, today will be the “mother of battles”. Not that the same does not apply to the other two forces that supported Harilaou Trikoupi’s motion of no confidence, as New Left and Pleussi Eleftherias want to show themselves that they are comfortably above the 3% zone leading to the European Parliament.

Koumoundourou’s primary goal during the three-day debate was not to show that she is the “tail” of Nikos Androulakis’s parliamentary group.

This is the reason why Stefanos Kasselakis asked for elections in the first place, yesterday Sokratis Famellos took the floor in the Parliament, while Olga Gerovasilis was also found in the podium by the “heavy artillery”.

From Koumoundourou they speak of the certain feeling of the society regarding the responsibilities of the government in the crime of Tempe but also overall in the degradation of the rule of law. It is clear that they are waiting today for Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the Parliament in order to apologize, as they claim, for what has happened.

They divide the case of the Tempes into two strands: In the causes of the accident and the long-standing oligarchy of Maximos and the former Minister of Transport, Kostas Karamanlis, but in the cover-up that followed.

In the official opposition, they emphasize that almost four days have passed since the revelations of the newspaper “To Vima” and the core of the questions that led to the motion of no confidence have not been answered: Who had access to the audios? Who received the conversation stick and who made copies of it? Who was involved in editing the audios? Who decided to send the audios to the investigative authorities two days late? And who promoted them to pro-government media outlets? Going a step further for the last question, they emphasize that the Prosecutor himself could address it.

In the PASOK they consider the initiative taken by Nikos Androulakis using the top parliamentary weapon to be highly successful. Despite some irregularities – mainly regarding the opinion of Stefanos Kasselakis that the next elections should be held under international commissions – the progressive forces showed that they can form a united front against Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Investigative Committee excluded critical witnesses who had direct knowledge of the current state of the network, the management of the remote control contract, but also the political decisions of Kostas Karamanlis at the Ministry of Transport. It was not possible, they say from Harilaou Trikoupi, not to request new explanations from the government. As with SYRIZA, PASOK also raises their own questions: Who, at the time of the tragedy, had the priority to interfere with the critical audio material? Who had access to it before the Greek Police and the Greek Judiciary? Who edited the conversations and who leaked them to the media to bolster the human error theory alone?

A common recommendation for SYRIZA and PASOK was their reaction to yesterday’s installation of Kostas Karamanlis in the Parliament. Nikos Androulakis took the floor a total of three times in the Plenary yesterday and in the second he said that “the applause of the MPs of New Democracy, the style of Mr. Karamanlis, the characterizations, show that your party has zero empathy”. Stefanos Kasselakis, with a post on social media, emphasized: “‘It wasn’t his fault, that’s how he was.’ However, the prolonged applause of all ND MPs shows their overall political stature. Giants in disguise, dwarfs in awareness. They are now co-responsible.”

SYRIZA, PASOK, New Left and Pleussi Eleftherias speak of an “establishment” presented by the government and that what is being done in the Parliament since Tuesday was necessary: Accountability before the parliament and the Greek people. And this is what they expect the prime minister to do today.
