The president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, called for double elections, European and national elections, and added that his goal is the overthrow and that he is ready to assume the prime ministership of the country.

Speaking on Natalia Germanou’s show “Kalytera dendo meda” on Alpha, she clarified that SYRIZA-PS will operate independently, although it is always open to collaborations. Describing the aim for the European elections, he said: “I challenge that we go ahead with double elections. The world decided a year ago but with facts that have completely changed. We have the right to reconsider. There is volatility in society. SYRIZA will march independently but it will be renewed with clear proposals. Our aim is to prove that we will be the progressive government, to show that we have stood up, we have been renewed and to bring a very good result. The aim is to turn it around. My proposals on taxation have gelled, we will come up with more proposals, we will highlight faces and the world will reward us”. He added that “I don’t want SYRIZA to just get a punishment vote, I want the world to hear our program for a green, democratic, fair Europe for the cuts we are making in taxation, precision and justice that we will propose and to trust us . We want a positive vote. SYRIZA will remain independent but grow.”

He referred to the motion of no confidence: “The motion of no confidence is a useful tool but when the result is given it obviously does not change anything structurally. A useful result was that the arrogance of Kostas Ach. Karamanlis was exposed, it was obvious that he was lying and hiding. His strategy ‘don’t you be ashamed’ we saw it from the prime minister himself. Every time they want to avoid an issue they say don’t you be ashamed: ‘don’t you be ashamed to say that I am watching my minister’, it is always his strategy to throw the ball in the platform. Obviously his said Mr. Greenberg to convince us all that because he wears a tie and speaks well abroad it is impossible for him to have done these things inside the country. But as it turns out it is not impossible and that is exactly what happened. Finally, and I saw it in the camp, society boils from this Tempe crime and from the cover-up and after the prolonged applause in the Parliament will come a very strong slap in the European elections”. Regarding the applause of ND MPs, he said: “You have been elected by the vote of the citizens, choose either you are a MP or you are a sheep in the fold”. Despite his misgivings, he noted that “the progressive world stood with dignity in the parliament. Zoe Konstantopoulou was very militant and well done to her”. Answering a question, he said: “I don’t care if Nikos Androulakis tried to take advantage of his absence while he was in the army.”

He insisted on his demand to hold elections with international observers saying that there should be greater control, due to the violations of the rule of law by the ND government such as the leakage of the data of Greeks abroad.

He characteristically said: “who guarantees that the personal data of internal voters has not been leaked? Can Mr. Mitsotakis guarantee it? The inviolability of the elections is not a given. When one of the two fireplaces is at risk of prison due to the crime of Tempi, in order to don’t tell about the Predator and the wiretapping, then they will leave scorched earth, nothing is certain. We need to know if the Greeks’ information is classified.”

He confirmed that he will choose five persons for MEP candidates who may be some of those who are already on the list for their election from the party base.

Regarding the criticism he received regarding his short military service, he said: “The 20-day fandar insults the entire diaspora. Greece is a country of nepotism and nepotism, I came to the country permanently because I became the leader of the official opposition. I am proud to have served, I did that the law provides, I wore the coat of arms with pride. I have not offended anyone in this country, I am not lying, I am not saying have no shame.”

Regarding the Prime Minister’s complaints about financial interests, he said: “If a government has a real popular base, it is not afraid of financial interests, nor is it based on financial interests. This is all a system that helped them brand SYRIZA as a ‘National exception’ and now backfires”.

Regarding his relations with Alexis Tsipras and the Institute being founded, he said: “Our relations are fine. We are in contact, he sent me wishes and we spoke a week ago while I was in the camp, we are better than ever. Mr. Tsipras is a man who was mercilessly hit by the propaganda of the Mitsotakis system. We are proud of what SYRIZA has achieved, Alexis Tsipras made great inroads in Greek society and he is doing well and he wants to present them to Greek society through an Institute. Mitsotakis has a right to have Greenberg and Alexis can’t have a consultant for his Institute. And with the opportunity to find out who pays Greenberg. Because I see every year the debt of the ND increases – such a debt arrangement I never seen before. Will ND tell us how Stan Greenberg is paid?”.

On defense policy and armament spending he said: “We cannot afford to have lower defense spending, obviously it is a goal to be able to redistribute income to social needs but we are in a particular geopolitical moment. The cheapest defense is deterrence . On the other hand, I don’t think it is appropriate to send equipment that we have paid for in gold to Ukraine or other countries. I want our defense equipment to stay in the country. We can help in another way, with humanitarian aid. We also cannot pay the soldiers with 8.60 euros per month”.

About his tenure he said: “The climate was warm and it was an opportunity to socialize with a new world that has stopped dreaming. I did both chores and lazing. The tenure has benefits, it coordinates and unites society, it brings together people from all social classes. The conscription should have a more social character. The training should continue and then for example until the age of 40. The society should be more prepared for a bad time. Also the soldiers should be paid at least 150 euros per month. And then we have to look after our military who are also experiencing insecurity.”

Answering a related question, he said that there are persons from the ND that he could bring “like a transfer to SYRIZA”.

Regarding the life style for which he receives criticism, Mr. Kasselakis said that “my life is transparent. Let’s also see the life style of others”. Regarding his personal issues, he said: “We will have a wedding soon, in Crete, in my special homeland in a very close circle”.
