Yesterday, Stefanos Kasselakis said on Radio Crete: “The goal is the great upheaval. The goal is for everyone to understand that until the next national elections the N.D. will fall, there will be a new SYRIZA government from the renewed SYRIZA. We are going to win. We are not going to pretend a second place with a difference etc. I really believe that all scenarios are possible”.

The reversal for SYRIZA is equivalent to the significant reduction of the scissors which separates the party from New Democracy. The second place in Koumoundourou is no longer being negotiated either they have turned their eyes absolutely on the battle of the European elections. It will be the “stepping stone” or simply the battle that will prepare the ground for SYRIZA to return to the role it has had since 2012 as the powerful second government pole. From theory to practice, however, there is a long distance. With three consecutive events today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow in Nea Ionia, Peristeri and Nea Smyrni the 203 candidates of the primary elections will be announced.
Stefanos Kasselakis said yesterday on Radio Crete: “The goal is the big turnaround. The goal is for everyone to understand that until the next national elections the N.D. will fall, there will be a new SYRIZA government from the renewed SYRIZA. We are going to win. We are not going to pretend a second place with a difference etc. I really believe that all scenarios are possible”.
In Koumoundourou they are constantly making a “treasury” from the messages they receive from the world and from how the political landscape is shaped after the interventions of Stefanos Kasselakis. In Crete, according to party sources, a dynamic stream of support from society was captured. Both from the spontaneous warm reactions of the citizens to every visit or walk of the president and from the positions of the representatives of the agencies with which meetings were held. It is no coincidence that Stefanos Kasselakis has been in all the hospitals of the island since last Thursday in order to send the message that public health is a key priority of SYRIZA, while he directly accuses the government of privatizing the NHS. The party’s pre-election tour for the June 9 polls started from a former “castle” with Stefanos Kasselakis declaring that “Crete will speak loudly and say SYRIZA for the progressive democratic overthrow”.
In the closed meetings held in Koumoundourou, they estimate that the N.D. is on a downward spiral. This is the reason, they argue, that Kyriakos Mitsotakis raised national election dilemmas at the closing of the Congress of the blue faction. The issue of accuracy, security, wiretapping that came to the fore again and the Tempe accident, they think they have cornered the government.
It is clear how Stefanos Kasselakis follows a different tactic that no one knows where it will end up. It brings together the people who show a punitive attitude towards the government and either stayed away in previous years or chose other anti-systemic parties from the entire political spectrum, even from the extreme right. At the same time, it is hoped that even at the last moment, a part of the old voters who have been “homeless” will return to their base. The “ceiling” of this venture is difficult to determinehowever lately he seems to be “doing it”.
In yet another poll published yesterday, by Alco on behalf of ALPHA, the intention to vote by recalling the valid ones is recorded at 12.3%, with PASOK following at 11.4%. New Democracy’s lead remains strong (25.6%). In the vote estimate, the blue faction is expected to move from 29-33%. THE SYRIZA from 14-16%, the PASOK from 12%-14%. The KKE from 8-10%, the Hellenic Solution from 9-11%, the Spartans from 2-4% and Niki from 3-5%. Followed by Freedom Sailing from 3-5% and New Left from 2-3.4%.
