The government representative gave an interview to ERT this morning
Pavlos Marinakis, in an interview with ERT, stated that he had started the operation of the cameras in the stadiums etcand where it is not applied, the matches are held without people. He also said that the electronic ticket identification system was also launched yesterday. “Generally, the rules, for many years in this country, either did not exist or were not enforced. Gradually, they enter everywhere. There is a delay of years, overall, of the political system. We have an obligation to set all the rules and apply them to everyone,” he noted.
Referring to the measures announced by the government on school violence, the government spokesman accused the opposition of trying to create a climate of law and order and punishment.
Mr. Marinakis noted, among other things, that it is important that the parents of children who destroy a public property pay, and not the Greek taxpayer as a whole, that it is important for serious issues related to the filming of other students and for other serious issues many times that there be severe penalties, because otherwise there will be no end to these phenomena, which are sad and a punch in the stomach.
The main character of the measures of the Ministry of Education emphasized, is awareness raising and the stop-bullying.gov.gr platform it is for the central management of complaints, their follow-up, informing parents about complaints, training psychologists, who have doubled in schools, and special social workers.
“The State must come to protect all students wherever they are studying,” he pointed out and said that 684 education counselors will be trained by September. He also stated that “we do not speak in punitive terms” and accused the left and especially SYRIZA that in the education system “baptized any self-evident reform as punitive” and that he “constantly opposed everything self-evident and all he wanted to do is, with easy solutions which brought down our educational system, to caress the ears of teachers and students”.
He added that the downward leveling has reached the worst possible point of our education system and noted that we should be united, even on the issue of child abuse, on the issue of bullying.
The government spokesman replied and to the criticism received by the government that it is taking these measures late recalling actions that have been taken and noting that with the evolution of the phenomenon “we saw that a more central campaign is needed” and “this is our difference from other governments”.
Pavlos Marinakis in the same interview denied a report that states that Greece can give up to 32 F16s to Ukraine. “Now the circulation of fake news has started and has gone to another level. It is not a tactic followed by a specific part of the political system. It now begins and becomes the dominant tactic of the Opposition and people who republish this logic. There is no such thing,” he said.
Regarding the announcement by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on marine parks in the Aegean, the government representative stated that this announcement politicizes a purely environmental issue.
“Greece pursues a foreign policy without any inclination to retreat to our sovereign rights, based on International Law and the Law of the Sea. Here we are talking about something which is environmental. The actions of the Greek Government are planned and will be determined based on and aimed at protecting the environment and nothing else. And the determination of the EEZ and continental shelf, which is the only difference we have to discuss with Turkey, we hope will be resolved at the level of International Law, as we have said and nothing else. From there, we make it clear that this has nothing to do with any political move. The Turkish Foreign Ministry is politicizing it badly. And as for the dialogue you asked me about, we believe in the dialogue, we continue the dialogue”, he underlined.
Regarding the Prime Minister’s trip to Ankara, he said that the planning is progressing normally and from then on “we evaluate each action separately”. He also emphasized that there is no inclination – and this is clear from the overall attitude of the Government and the Prime Minister – to retreat from our sovereign rights.
Regarding a publication in the NEWS, he spoke of a falsification of reality and a “non-issue” regarding the essence of the Tempe issue.
“We are talking about human error, to get along. We are talking about a set of conversations. I will say it one more time, because it is very important not to lose sight of the point. If there is an issue of leakage, which may exist, if there is any issue, the Court will investigate it and is investigating it. That’s another matter, but here we have I think 15 conversations, these conversations have been released and one of them that day, it seems that it didn’t come out right. The next day all the sites, the public television, also got this conversation right. The day all the other talks came out and this one, they were advocating human error. This, after all, concerned another train. It was said, explained, on the same day the confession of the fatal station master came out, everything was clear. There was no one to question it; even the staunchest opponents of the government, of the OSE, of all that happened, never questioned human error. And he has opened an issue, for about a month now, which is going nowhere. Was there any reason for anyone, whoever he is, I don’t know who it might be, why was there no reason for him to falsify something to manipulate public opinion, about something that was settled? That is, let’s talk a little with logic. We have realized how many hours we have spent, because we have an obligation to respond, to a subject which could not lead to the manipulation of public opinion. To manipulate for something self-evident, which the man himself admitted? Manipulate for something that all other conversations were talking about was human error? What could be the reason?”, he emphasized.
Alongside he accused the opposition of keeping issues current, because it has no narrative, program and counter-proposal.
He reminded that the prime minister in his first statement after the tragic accident in Tempe, spoke mainly about human error, which was met with timeless pathologies of the Greek state, all of which are being investigated.
“We have all been told that it is also a human error and everything else is being investigated and at the end of the day – more than a year has passed – with unprecedented times in general terms, and I want to believe that this is how Justice will always be in the future, the Justice is proceeding. It proceeds with the apologies of the accused, it proceeds with the investigation of all aspects, it also conducts second expert opinions, it conducts investigations. And watch out; “miraculously”, none of these investigations, none of these individual tasks of the Justice, which is very properly doing its job, confirm any of the conspiracy theories of the opposition. Until the conspiracy theories that are maintained in a pompous way are disproved and when they are disproved, it’s a single column and we go to the next one, to discover the “montagerie”, to discover something else, why? Because they don’t care about the truth. They care about politicizing a tragic accident, exploiting people’s pain and campaigning for European elections in Tempe. This is tragic,” he added.
Referring to Stefanos Kasselakis, he stated that “the exact same narrative of populism’s fake news, the same logic of the “leftists” is coming back, wrapped around an influencer”.
“Mr. Kasselakis. He behaves as an influencer, he takes different things piecemeal and adopts them, he has reached the point, now, of having the exact same rhetoric as the parties that peddled conspiracy theories. The leader of the official opposition party writes an article and issues that are still being investigated by the Justice and so far it seems to be conspiracy theories or issues that are not confirmed by anyone, I will tell you that it is still pending, because as a lawyer I have learned even when I consider something to be untrue, until the Justice stamps it with its stamp, with its irrevocable Decision”, he noted.
He noted that the first expert has said there was something and so has the second expert. “Technical consultants are not experts. We cannot politicize and change the laws that have been resolved all these years in the Judiciary, because some have decided to make the judges and analysts. Anyone else is not an investigator and a judge,” he stressed.
And he added: “I will not comment again on the conspiracy theories, the fact that he plays the judge, that he takes a position on matters that Justice has never confirmed, that he points the finger, that he slanders. It says, for example, that we have the ability to process personal data, while we are not even controlled for anything. Neither as a party, nor as natural persons. This is called defamation. And I’ll tell you the truth, if I wasn’t representing a government and a wider group, I could have thought, to protect myself as well, that no Kasselakis, no Marinakis, no one can slander anyone else, because he wants to portray the revolutionary with conspiracy theories.”
Regarding the economy, he said that “the pioneers of chaos, those who brought Greece to the “trash” of the economy, come and point the finger”.
The government representative on this mentioned specific positive figures for the Greek economy which have been achieved under the Mitsotakis government while for the governor of the Bank of Greece Giannis Stournaras, he said that he makes a series of serious remarks that show that our country is in an environment of stability which must be continued. “If one reads Stournaras’ position and sees what the Government is doing, he understands that this position is based on the progress of the Greek economy. However, if anyone reads or listens to Stournaras’ position and sees the Opposition Programs, they understand that they are doing the complete opposite of what Stournaras and every person who understands what is happening in the Greek economy points out,” he noted.
Mr. Marinakis explained why voting for ND means political stability, while regarding the new judicial charter he emphasized that it is the 3rd important reform to deal with the delay in the delivery of Justice.
