The President of SYRIZA was asked about his reports, during the meeting with the Archbishop of America Elpidophoros, in Saint Iakovos Tsalikis and in the “miracle” with the cross from the oil that formed in the pool while he was being baptized, which caused a special sensation and according to many they represent a “turn” by SYRIZA with the aim of attracting voters from the right.

“The only miracle that exists is that SYRIZA has stood on its feet and resurrected itself after what it has been through in recent years and I am proud of what we have achieved,” said Stefanos Kasselakis.
He explained that “obviously the whole conversation with the Archbishop of America was not aired”, stating that “the conversation started when he saw that there was a picture of Saint Iakovos Tsalikis in the office of Mr. Elpidophoros”, who told the President of SYRIZA that “the saint Iakovos Tsalikis was his spiritual soul, he was his mentor and he had spent a lot of time with him.”

However, he emphasized that “because there is a bond with one of the youngest saints of the Church, it does not mean that I am changing the platform. Since August I have been talking about the distinct roles of State and Church”.

Attack on Giorgos Autias

THE Stefanos Kasselakis answering questions, turned his fire against Giorgos Autiasusing harsh expressions and characterizing the slogan “fatherland, religion, family” that the ND MEP candidate puts forward in his positions as “Hundist”.

What does progress mean? When inside you may believe deeply, but as a citizen you also believe deeply in the separation of State and Church”

Invited to comment on the phrase of Giorgos Autias to Kyriakos Mitsotakisafter his return from the USA, that “the entire Community votes ND”Stefanos Kasselakis said “I don’t have this impression from Omogenia and know that Omogenia has been disturbed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s statement about me as an “imported” leader”.

Aiming at Giorgos Autias, he said that “he’s very good at presenting an image in a populist way. If you watch pictures before the parade, you will see that I have a good relationship with the Omogenia and they themselves hope that we will be able to bring a change to Greece, because they themselves believe that they consider them either victims or votes”.

The President of SYRIZA also said that “it is not the ND that in Europe can claim the most benefit for the interests of Greece” and that “SYRIZA has more credibility to claim than the EU”.
