A surprise awaited their morning 92 Turkish visitors of Mytilini with the ship “Esref Zale” when they found out that the Greek Prime Minister welcomed them at the port of the city Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Among them, the captain of the ship Ali Zale, who is the vice-mayor of the town of Ayvali, opposite Mytilene.
“We are at the reception. Welcome. Enjoy your stay here,” the prime minister told the Turkish tourists.
Mr. Mitsotakis was photographed with Turkish tourists and was informed about the implementation of the visa express issuance while ascertain the speed of visa issuance to 20 of the 92 Turkish visitors who chose to issue a visa in Mytilene, and not at the country’s Consular authorities in Turkey.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister went to the City Hall of Mytilene where he had a meeting with the mayor of the city, Panagiotis Christofas.
In a period where, beyond the internal interest, the visit also has a symbolic character. It is being held at a time when the revival of Ankara’s provocation regarding marine parks in the Ionian and Aegean brought back to the fore, the Greek government’s repeated unwavering and steadfast position on the country’s non-negotiable sovereign rights and the presence of the prime minister on the island of Anatolik of the Aegean, strengthens this position even more.
At the same time, however, the tour of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Lesvos brings back the pre-election tactics that were followed in the national elections as well, with the known results, which are the prime minister’s direct and unmediated contact with the citizens and the promotion of government commitments that are now being made actions. In this context, in the morning, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will tour Mytilini and then attend and speak at an event for the delivery of another development project in the region, and in particular the Kalloni – Sigri road axis. Another project that reinforces the commitment of the prime minister and the government that the second government term of the ND that the country is already going through will be identified with the maturation and delivery of more and more infrastructure projects, to the citizens, always with the aim of improving everyday life. At noon, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will go to Kalloni, where he will visit the West Lesvos Town Hall and have a meeting with citizens. Afterwards, the Prime Minister will visit the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, in Sigri.
