It was completed a while ago KYSEA meeting under the Prime Minister, with the participation of the Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas.
The main subject of the meeting was adequacy in the supply of the country with natural gassince Greece supplies 35% -40% of what it consumes from Russia.
The government is optimistic that with the current data there will be no problem in the supply of the country with natural gas for the following reasons:
First, Greece is supplied through Turkstream and experts estimate that it is not one of the first pipelines that, even in the event of a conflict, will be turned off by Vladimir Putin. Besides, it is a pipeline that goes from Russia to Turkey and reaches Bulgaria through Greece.
In addition, as of February 14, the alternative plans have entered into force, which provide for Revythousa to be full, which has a very large capacity.
At the same time, there are agreements with Algeria to transport LNG by ships to our country, while two PPC units are on standby that can turn from consumed natural gas to diesel.
Also, there is sufficiency in hydroelectric plants and lignite units are on standby that can give more energy to the supply.
Finally, during his meeting with Egyptian President Al Sisi in Brussels, the Prime Minister, in addition to the agreement on electricity interconnection, had also discussed the possibility of transferring energy from Egypt.
It is pointed out that the issue of Greeks living in Mariupol will be raised at the KYSEA meeting.
