The Republic daily refutes the last minorities of devotees of authoritarianism, who hypocritically invoke the people, that is, the same people, who they consider unworthy to govern their country responsibly and representatively. This was emphasized by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, on the occasion of the 57-year-old Hundred coup.

In his related statement, Mr. Tasoulas stated that the imposition of the dictatorship on 21/04/1967, allows us, among many other lessons and thoughts, that are formulated every year about it, to reflect on how absolutely and by definition anti-people it is totalitarian regimes.

He even noted that their violent domination, the suppression of freedom and the usurpation of the popular will, finally testify to their deep contempt for the people, who consider them incapable and unfit to assume the responsibilities of a country representatively. While the parliamentary democracy, which was restored in our country 50 years ago, after the seven-year multiple test of our homeland and especially of Cyprus, is the state that par excellence recognizes the value and responsibility of every citizen from whom it alone draws its legalization, Mr. Tasoulas added.

And today, concluded the Speaker of the Parliament, 57 years after the Juntic coup, our democracy, based on popular sovereignty, claims and achieves a better future for the country, daily refuting extreme minorities of devotees of authoritarianism, who hypocritically invoke the people, themselves i.e. people, who consider themselves unworthy to govern their country responsibly and representatively.-
