In reports for breaking into the Directorate of Elections of the Ministry of the Interior the Ministry announced at noon on Saturday.

“Regarding an incident of alleged burglary at the Ministry of the Interior, the following is noted:

During the midday hours of Friday, April 26, there was a complaint regarding an alleged break-in at the office of the head of the Elections Directorate, which is located on Evangelistrias Street. The entrance to the specific building is guarded by a private security company, while visitors are subject to an identity check upon entry.

The Police were immediately called to investigate the facts. On the part of the Ministry of the Interior, the prescribed protocols were activated, at the level of network security, electronic media and controls by the Department of Cyber ​​Security of the Ministry, and so far no evidence has emerged.

The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Athens Security Directorate with the assistance of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate, while the Head of the Athens Primary Prosecutor’s Office was informed, it is emphasized.
