Determined not to let the parties – and especially to the right of the ND – to instrumentalize the Church and the faith, especially on the Holy days of Easter that we are going through, is the prime minister, putting an end to the specter of the Greek Solution and Victory, the threats, the warnings and even the manual court, which were recorded in the previous period, against government officials.

According to government sources, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is not willing to leave “vital” space to these parties to commercialize the issues of religion and faith for vote-seeking purposes, insisting on separating the politics that respond to the social needs of the time, from the unquestionable respect for the Church and religion, which the ND faction has traditionally and over time expressed. A few hours after the meeting with Archbishop Hieronymos last Friday, when government-Church relations were restored, after the rift caused by the passing of the same-sex marriage law, Mr. Mitsotakis with a strong argument the position of the Archbishop who he drew a dividing line from any politician who tries to “direct” the Church, he spoke of “an embankment against those who in the most obscene way plunder the Christian faith, as if some are more Christian than others”.

Under these circumstances, and willingly to show in practice his intentions and determination, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to attend the Mass of the Passion with the Twelve Gospels and the Crucifixion of Christ on Maundy Thursday in the Metropolis of Athens. Accordingly, ministers, parliamentarians and executives of the blue faction, will attend Holy Week services throughout Greece and in their regions where they have moved for the Easter days, sending the same message in all directions.

The pre-election machines are in full swing – The battle with abstention

On a second level, throughout the Easter holidays, government and party officials they are expected to “mask” the machines, as the hourglass of the pre-election period empties and brings the polls of June 9 closer. With a focus on everyday life and accuracy, door-to-door, neighborhood-neighborhood, they will communicate the efforts, policies and results of government policy, to improve the lives of citizens, putting forward the stakes of stability and continuity, in order to complete the an effort that started from the first government term and includes many more reforms in this direction.

The a big bet, however, is still the beating of abstinence and in these European polls, a fact that the prime minister himself focused on against his established post on social media calling on citizens to vote responsibly. In particular, as the Prime Minister mentioned, “The vote in the European elections cannot be a vote that is irrefutable and frivolous, but a vote of responsibility, real progress and democratic vigilance. Abstention is not an answer. Whichever party you support, you ultimately support the Republic itself with your participation which from this year becomes easier with postal voting”, the Prime Minister emphasized, reminding also that this possibility is now available to all voters wherever they are, whether in Greece or abroad, as well as that there is still time until today, Great Monday , which is the deadline for citizens to enter the epistoliki.ypes.gov.gr platform and register.
