Meeting with the mayor of SerifosKonstantinos Revinthi, had the President of PASOK-Movement for Change Nikos Androulakis on Tuesday morning.

The two men discussed the problems faced by permanent residents, the degradation of infrastructure and services of the welfare state as well as the effects of the golden visa on the residential development of small islands with less than 3,000 inhabitants.

In his statements, Mr. Androulakis noted, among other things:
“For us, the well-being of the permanent populations of the small islands of our homeland is a priority. That is why we propose that there should be strong tax incentives for productive investment in manufacturing and the primary sector. Strengthening the ailing infrastructure and a strong social state with an emphasis on health and education.
There is also the issue that has arisen with the golden visa. Mayor, I find it inconceivable that the government – after PASOK’s pressure – raised the golden visa limit to 800,000 euros in Crete and other large islands, but here in the smaller islands of the Cyclades and the rest of Greece the limit remains at 400,000 euros as a result of which great pressure is caused and inequalities are created”.

Afterwards, Mr. Androulakis visited the island’s multi-purpose clinic as well as the agricultural and beekeeping cooperative.
